As the fall quickly approaches, parents and students of all ages are left wondering what challenges await their return to the the classroom. As part of our “Back to Work” series, we’ll discuss these hot-topic questions and more with 2010 National Teacher of the Year Sarah Brown Wessling.

Join our live Q&A webinar Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. EDT as we explore the questions being asked by parents around the nation and, of course, for the opportunity to pose your own questions to Brown Wessling. During the Q&A, we’ll be addressing questions like:

  • What factors constitute a safe return to school or campus?
  • What can I do to support my child emotionally and academically?
  • What steps can I take to help them from falling behind?
  • Should I consider tutors or micro-schooling?

Register below for our Aug. 18 live Q&A.

And, if you missed our recent talk with Brown Wessling, you can also register for that on-demand webinar below. In this short, on-demand webinar, Wellfleet’s Jodi Ostendorf joined Brown Wessling to address concerns and dive into ideas for parents to keep the learning path moving forward for their children.

Sarah started her career in 1998 and has taught high school English at Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa for 21 years.

Over the years, she became certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and today serves on its Board of Directors.

In 2010, Sarah went to the White House, where she was honored to be named the National Teacher of the Year.

In addition to being a proud mother of three, Sarah maintains a hybrid position at Johnston High School that allows her to work with teachers and schools across the country. She is an advocate for the profession, teachers and most importantly, the potential in every student.

Sarah Brown Wessling was named 2010 National Teacher of the Year
